2017 Display Competition Images (15 MAR)

This year we split our competition into two parts, Diorama and Display. Diorama being where somebody has created something like a building or the groundwork themselves. Display was pretty much bought items arranged well as it was aimed at getting people to participate and then hopefully next time go for a diorama build. There were nine entrants in each category with one entering both. This made 17 entrants compared to 13 last year. Probably would have been a few more but the bringing forward of the event by four months caught some out in terms of building time.

There was a base size limit of 320 x 350mm although I did mistakenly give a few people a smaller dimension.

There were 12 entries in this Display category. We had a competition which was based votes by attendees at our event.

1st was Hitlers Office by Ray - Figures are all King & Country and the office building is from Collectors Showcase. The large table diorama is Germania set LAH193 which includes Hitler and Speer figures.

2nd was Viking Raid by Carole - Figures are from Britains and the boat is from the King & Country Life of Jesus series. The river base and bush is from JG Miniatures.

3rd was Long Range Desert Group by Gary - Figures, vehicles, trees and well from King & Country. He used a kind of hessian cloth as the groundwork and sprinkled some sand.

2nd close up image as one the above might be distracting you from the actual display.

Other entrants are below in historical sequence :

Zulus v 24th Foot by Paul (our youngest entrant) - Figures and cart from Britains and base and shrubs from JG Miniatures.
