Description
1914 Star World War One - Full Size Replica
Please note that the image used is not one of our replicas and is for reference only. Our replicas are the best we have been able to source but at time of listing this item we have not taken individual photos of all the replica medals we can provide.
The 1914 Star was authorised in April 1917 to be awarded to those who served in France or Belgium on the strength of a unit, or who served in either of those two countries between 5 August 1914 and midnight on 22/23 November 1914. A bronze clasp inscribed ‘5 th Aug – 22 nd Nov 1914' was issued to those ‘who actually served under the fire of the enemy in France and Belgium' between those dates. A recipient of the 1914 Star could not also be awarded the 1914–15 Star. Since Australian Forces were not serving in France or Belgium at that time this medal is only going to apply to those who were in the British Army at the time. Not common.
The above price is for the full size replica medal and 10" (25cm) of ribbon unmounted. Clasp is $10 each.
The cost to mount the medal is $20. So for example this medal mounted with 1 clasp would be $55.
This medal is most likely to be found with the WWI War and Victory Medals and possibly WW2 medals if the person served again.
