Collage from Korea to modern peacekeeping. Army Navy and Airforce badges are included under image together with a list of 30 peacekeeping missions since Korea. Print comes with an image guide. Images include : Korea (soldier, mustang and vickers crew), Cambodia (Ankor Wat and skulls), Africa (search & medical), Bougainville (HQ's and civilian), Timor (statue), Australian Federal Police, military vehicles (M113, truck, motorcycle), aircraft (Bougainville Huey, Blackhawk, Mustang, Hercules), medical and naval images. The central female soldier is Sue Coate, the artists wife, who was in the first Timor deployment with 1st Joint Signals Unit. The little girl is their daugther with a sun tan.
AFP officers might be interested to know we did approach AFP HQ's (PR) about the possibility of including the AFP badge under the image and inviting Assitant Commissioner Alan Mills to sign the print. The reaction was that the AFP did not want to be associated with such an image that involved guns and helicopters etc.
Many of these prints have been given away for various fundraising activities.
The "hidden man" is in the top right corner next to Bougainville HQ's. The man is based on a figure kit we produced of a soldier in Kokoda. Many are not aware he is there.
